As it happens, these nice twenty-year-old British tasters do not seem to have been actually delighted with their Pays d’Oc “Chàrdonnay” – as they put it. They purchased a half-bottle onboard a long-distance train traveling from Paris to Italy, and I was thrilled to share the same railroad-car for a while.

In short, they did opt for their national everyday drink, which it appeared to be also unimpressive to them, as they forgot some cans in the coach. That’s how life goes.
